About
Team
SUM is a platform aimed at amplifying the voices of young creatives and academics alike.

Covering art, music, culture, science and more, weโ€™re a multi-disciplined collective looking to make waves in London and beyond.

Events + Exhibitions

From exhibitions in a 30,000sqft factory to small-scale events in a south london carpark, weโ€™ve been putting on underground events since our inception. Highlights include producing a weekend-long London Design Festival event with over a thousand attendees, and collaborating with The Lipstik Politico Magazine to celebrate culture from across the South Asian Diaspora.

POC:STEM

Our POC:STEM series interviews the best and brightest young scientists of colour. Exploring the reasons behind such poor representation in the sciences while celebrating the subjects achievements, watch this space for the documentary coming soon!

Music

We want to show the world the best music the underground London scene has to offer. Projects like the SUMsessions give young artists a chance to display their live skills, while our in-person music events and open mics are designed to be accessible to all and offer a huge variety of different talent.

Interviews + Articles

Promoting the works of young creatives and academics is at the core of our mission. To this end our articles explore the voices of the unheard and unseen; photo-journalism exploring the Grenfell Gardens and an interview series on femal hormonal experiences and the massive impact that they can have on daily life.

Film

Weโ€™re working on developing the film arm of SUMweekly, producing our first short film โ€˜Cabelo Bedjoโ€™ in collaboration with artist Tatiana last year, with screenings at the V&A museum and more. Weโ€™re currently producing a funded documentary which ties into our POC:STEM initiative; exploring the lives of young black scientists from across the UK.
